Posted later as a result of unreliable signal.
Its 1:40 am and Daniel and Aislings wedding has just ended. More on that later, right now I’m in a mini-bus going back to Belfast from the Lough Erne golf resort.
There are 12 of us on the bus and a girl at the back has managed to silently puke on the floor.
The smell has filled the bus and some of us are finding it difficult to hold our stomachs.
1 girl whose name I have forgotten has kindly shared her chewing gum with us to try to stave off the stench.
I am also trying to mentally categorise it as a slurry smell (which it isn’t) in the hope that I can deal with it the same way I had to deal with ‘the smell of the country’ when I was a young boy travelling to Ballinderry in the car with my parents.
I’m winning so far but if someone else loses their guts as a result of the first puke, it may cascade and the mini-bus could become a mobile vomitarium.
Just 1 hour and 30 minutes til we reach Belfast!
2:26 am – 41 miles to Belfast. All is well so far.
Got off the bus at 3:20 am by which time I suspect the culprit may have delivered a second payload, it was running down the aisle.
No puke from me though, mental exercise kinda worked, as did stuffing rizlas up my nose.
As far as youtube videos go this one is quite striking.
Tripoli’s citizens on the streets celebrating.
Just an aside, but . .
I press this at 3:23 am 21/08/11.
I recently watched a documentary on BBC4 (which is a brilliant channel- more on that later) about Pathe and the demise of the ‘newsreel’. Ultimately t.v. was quicker to report the news and did it better so folk stopped going to the newsreel theatres.
I think the same thing could happen to rolling 24 hour news channels. The internet is providing news and coverage faster than BBC24 and Sky News. At least in this instance.
Oh. Wait a minute. How could I forget the phone hacking scandal? Almost every headline, every development was tweeted before the news channels ‘broke’ it.
If the BBC need to keep trimming fat it could trim back the BBC news 24 channel. I don’t think I’d miss it.
How to be a better twitizen.
Rioters. Criminals torch Sony distribution centre hitting the Indie music scene.
More violence set for tonight. Lets see how the police respond.
55 minutes of win.
